    In this contribution, the transport of tartaric acid through ion-exchange membranes has been investigated. Especially, the effects of the tartaric acid concentration, electric current density and the concentration difference upon the rate of transport have been studied. All the experiments have been carried out using ion-exchange membranes from Mega, a.s. company, the Czech Republic, i.e. Ralex-AMH-PES and Ralex-CMH-PES. The mathematical model, which describes the dependences of the tartaric acid concentrations in the diluate and concentrate sides, has been developed.
