Original language description
Filtration equations for a cake filtration in non-Newtonian fluids are presented. The filtration equations are based on a capillary hybrid model for a power law fluid flow containing a modified Deborah number correction functions for expression of the elastic pressure drop excess in the flow of viscoealstic filtrate. The validity of the filtration equation for description of the cake filtration course on a frame filter press, using filtration parameters determined on a nutche type laboratory filter, istested experimentally. In the experiments, the solid particles of hardened polystyrene and diatomite were filtered from polymer solutions on a pilot frame filter press.
