Crystallization kinetics in Se70Te30 glass
Original language description
In this work the crystallization kinetics of a chosen composition (x = 0.3) in the Se1-xTex glassy system is described. Bulk glass was prepared by a classical melt-quenching technique and was grinded to a fine powder with particle size 125 - 180 mým afterwards. The crystallization kinetics of the prepared glass was studied by differential scanning calorimetry technique under non-isothermal conditions for heating rates 0.5 - 30 K?min-1. Full kinetic analysis (i.e. determination of the activation energy of the crystallization process, suggestion of an appropriate kinetic model, and determination of the pre-exponential kinetic factor) was done for all measured samples. The activation energy determined by the Kissinger and Ozawa methods was found to be Ec= 148 +- 1.5 kJ?mol-1. The experimental data were then interpreted in terms of the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami (JMA) nucleation-growth model4-6, the parameter of this model was found to be n = 1.
