Oxidation of an intramolecularly coordinated phosphine ligand {2,6-((BuOCH2)-Bu-t)(2)C6H3}PPh2 (1) by Me3SiN3 provided novel silyl-phosphinimine {2,6-((BuOCH2)-Bu-t)(2)C6H3}Ph2P=NSiMe3 (2), that can be easily hydrolysed to give stable phosphiniminium azide [{2,6-((BuOCH2)-Bu-t)(2)C6H3}Ph2P=NH2](+) N-3(-) (3). Compound 3 was used for the synthesis of novel intramolecularly coordinated phosphinimine compound (LPh2P)-Ph-1=NH, that can be trapped by triorganotin(IV) compounds R3SnCl (R = Me, Cy) as organotin(IV)-phosphinimine complexes [{2,6-((BuOCH2)-Bu-t)(2)C6H3}Ph2P=NH]SnR3Cl (R = Me(4), Cy(5)). Compounds 2-5 were characterized by means of elemental analyses, H-1, C-13, P-31, Sn-119 NMR spectroscopy, and compounds 3 and 4 by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
