    NON-CONVENTIONAL METHODS FOR AOX REMOVAL

  • Original language description

    New precipitation agents based on action of mixture of quaternary ammonium salts (R4NX) and inorganic coagulants (aluminium of iron(III) salts) are very effective for the removal of acid dyes from aqueous solutions. The interaction of acid dyes with R4NXsalts gives slightly soluble ionic salts that can be recovered by coagulation using Al(OH)3 or Fe(OH)3 and subsequent filtration. Raney Al-Ni alloy was proved as the very effective reductant for the hydrodehalogenation of halogenated anilines dissolvedin aqueous effluent at room temperature and ambient pressure .
