Geographic information has become a necessary part not only of public administration and private sector but man's everyday life as well so it is more and more demanded. Development in the field of geographic information systems follows this demand so Internet, distributed and mobile solutions for providing geographic data on-line have risen. Now, they have become an inevitable part of information systems. Consequently, these solutions have to meet the same requirements as the other information systems.Fast response and data protection belong to these requirements. Possibilities of utilization of some security measurements and their influence on Internet geographic information systems are discussed.

GIS se staly samozřejmou součástí života. Vývoj v oblasti GIS reaguje na požadavky, takže jsou k dispozici Internetová, mobilní a distribuovaná řešení, která se stávají nezbytnou součástí informačních systémů. Proto musí tato řešení splňovat požadavky kladené na infomrační systémy, např. ochranu dat a rychlou odezvu. Diskutovány jsou možné způsoby ochrany dat a jejich vliv na internetový GIS.
