Today it is impossible to make decisions without utilization of spatial information. Thus, Internet based geographic information systems (GIS) and so called GIservices have become and inherent and widely spread part of information systems in both publicand private sector. This development resulted into many new quality requirements on the above stated information technologies. In the framework of this study one Internet based GIS solution was chosen (UMN MapServer) and some quality sub-characteristicsof extended ISO/IEC 9126 quality model were chosen for evaluation of the part of quality of provided services. Namely, end-user response time, service time of the server and presence or absence of selected security measurements belong to the metrics usedfor evaluation of the chosen software quality of services.
