Balanced Scorecard method was developed in the early 1990's as a response to the empirical findings that a number of strategies is not implemented successfully into the business world. In recent years, BSC has been also discussed as a usable conceptual framework for the strategy implementation and strategy development management of municipalities and regions. The main attention of the book is paid to the strategic management process of municipalities and regions, to the creation and effective implementation of Balanced Scorecard model and its potential application in the practise of the Czech local administration. Based on the research, a draft of procedures and tools that will lead to improvement in municipal and regional strategic management has beencreated.
