The Analysis of the Relationship between the Research and Development Financial Expeditures and the Innovation Output
Original language description
The article is dealing with the relationship between the financial sources and innovation output. The analysis is made by using the data from European database Eurostat and the European Innovation Scoreboard for year 2008. The correlation analysis is used between financial sources and different innovation output (such as Innovation performance, Number of total European patent applications to the EPO and number of high-tech patent applications to the EPO). The article is trying to find the innovation output which is the most dependent on financial input (in this analysis, as the financial input it is used research and development expenditures). The result shows that the highest is statistically significant correlation is between the research and development expenditures and number of European high-technology patent applications to EPO.
