The original solution of Problem B-1166 in the problem section of this journal. It was acquired to prove the given sum of a series with the Fibonacci and Lucas numbers whose indices are as powers of two. The proof is done by using of some identities for the Fibonacci and Lucas numbers and the known sum of a series of reciprocals of the Fibonacci numbers with the indices in the form of powers of two.
