The issue of security and its ensuring, in the last few years has become an important agenda of both public and private sector. Security reality has changed not only its structure, but also the dynamics at both the national and regional levels. This paper focuses on the possible critical events that may affect the industrially important region of the Czech Republic - Pardubice Region. Pardubice Region could be considered as typical industrial region with different kinds of production. There is railway station, shopping centers, university campus, hospital or buildings of state and local government in Pardubice town center and suburb. A phenomenon which potential to cause possible crisis events has dramatically increased is terrorism and associated terrorist attack. Although international extremism and terrorism is on a global scale, considered over-time as major threat in modern history, the Czech Republic has so far faced only with domestic terrorism, which can be divided into a number of forms. The aim of this paper is to present terrorist attack as a challenge for The Czech Republic as an European Union state in the form of real security threat and to perform analysis of potential impacts in conditions of Pardubice region.
