In the first part of paper is analysed develop of Czech transport freight during the last 10 years and its impacts on environmental. Ecological modes of transport are not sufficiently able to compete. One of the solutions is new access to intermodal transport - improved the interactivity, interconnectivity and interoperability of Trans European intermodal transport that must be customer oriented and offer favourable price. Short-term solution of intermodal transport in Czech republic is subsidies combined transport. Priority of long-term solution must be higher quality and better price, which can able competes on transport market.
