Low-load nanoindentation: influence of surface forces and adhesion
Original language description
Information on material properties can be obtained by instrumented indentation from indenter load and displacement data. In nanoindentation, under very low loads, the influence of interatomic forces must be considered, otherwise the results will be wrong. The paper also discusses the influence of specimen surface roughness and viscoelasticity.
