Original language description
This paper searches optimal way of basic postal service maintenance in Czech republic. In conditions of Czech postal sector, compensation fund financed by all postal services providers has been chosen from possible ways of universal service obligation net costs funding. Nevertheless, principle of its function protected by postal act amendment from 2012 is not considered by authors as appropriate and they recommend way of additional funding of universal service obligation by state budget. As convenient solution from certain viewpoint special type of mechanism so called ? pay or play? may appear. The above mentioned mechanisms should be preceded by general arrangements leading to higher efficiency of postal services provision.
