A Simultaneous Model for Assessing Individuals' Mobility Behavior and Tour-Mode Choice in Metropolitan Areas Based on Structural Equation Modeling System
Original language description
This paper aims to examine other aspect of activity-travel pattern analysis by applying structural equation modeling system for estimating causal relations among activity participation variables and trip chaining (tour) characteristics as a part of travel behavior emphasizing on path coefficients. The paper starts with a brief review on structural equation model applications in activity-based travel demand modeling using activity participation and travel behavior variables. The methodology of survey carried out to investigate people's activity participation and travel behavior is described and the statistical analysis is explained. The results of using SEM are explicated and some final considerations are presented in the conclusion.
