Identification of the Job Satisfaction Level Among Employees in the Social Sector in Slovakia
Original language description
The article focuses on the identification of factors related to job satisfaction among employees in the social sector in the conditions of the Slovak Republic. It defines fundamental concepts related to a job satisfaction and the working conditions of helping professions in the social sector in Slovakia. Subsequently, interprets the results of quantitative research aimed at assessing the level of perceived job satisfaction among employees in the social sector, using the Job Satisfaction Scale (Spector, 1985). The research sample consisted of 101 respondents (88.1% women, age: 23-70). The results indicate that 16.8% of the respondents experienced job dissatisfaction, 71.3% fell into the sphere of ambivalence, and 11.9% reported overall job satisfaction. Statistically significant differences were identified among different categories of employees in factors related to satisfaction with salary, satisfaction with superiors, satisfaction with recognition, working conditions, workplace relationships, and the nature of the work. Moreover, several interesting and statistically significant relationships were identified between various factors of job satisfaction and the sociodemographic characteristics of employees in the social sector.
