Application of Statistical Weights to Optimization
Original language description
In literature there appear frequent discussions concerning the possibility of improving of regression calculation, i.e. achievement of goodness of fit of the regression dependence by the measured data, by means of the so-called statistical weights. Theseshould suppress the effect of inaccurate and/or deviated points and, on the other hand, accentuate the effect of the points lying nearer to the regression dependence. A two-step calculation method has been proposed and tested, the first step being performed in classical way and the second being corrected by means of the weights calculated from established characteristics - Cook's, Atkinson's and the likelihood distance, that were obtained in the first step. In this way it would be possible toachieve a better goodness of fit and, hence, better precision and correctness of the parameters looked for.
