Can non metallic fibers improve fracture properties of high strength concrete?

  • Original language description

Long-term fracture properties of high strength concrete with different type and dosage of fibres are presented in this paper. Fracture properties are very sensitive to microcracks occurrence during of concrete ageing and they can control the durability of concrete. The effective crack model was used for the determination of the effective fracture toughness. The procedure for three-point bending specimens with a central edge notch was used and load-deflection curves were recorded for determination of thee fracture energy. Specimens were tested in age of 28, 90 and 365 days.
