Fracture-mechanical parameters of concrete: experiment and inverese analysis
Original language description
Concrete is a typical quasi-brittle material. Therefore it is convenient to describe its behavior using mechanical as well as fracture parameters. Those parameters are usually obtained by evaluation of results of fracture tests of suitable configurationusing specimens with stress concentrator (e.g. three-point bending test with central edge notch). Specimens are loaded with respect to constant increment of displacement and load-displacement diagram is recorded. Parameters like effective crack elongation and effective fracture toughness (or effective toughness) are evaluated using models of equivalent elastic crack. From whole load-displacement diagram fracture work or specific fracture energy can be assessed. Fracture energy is basic parameter of cohesive crack models which are used for prediction of fracture behavior of structures made of quasi-brittle materials. Other parameters like tensile strength can be evaluated from fracture tests using inverse analysis, e.g. neural network ba
