    The Response of a Removable Noise Damping Wall to the Impact of Motorcar

    In the frame of activities carried out in order to increase the safety of the road traffic, properly designed protective barriers are installed. Sometimes a complex structural system is used, comprising reinforced concrete protective barriers with steelcolumns provided with grooves to which noise damping panels are inserted. The presented paper deals with the analysis of dynamic responses of such noise damping wall to actions of wind as well as to the impact of a vehicle. The response to the vehicle impact has been analyzed using a specially elaborated complex computational model, comprising both the nonlinear model of the damping wall and the detailed model of the vehicle (in accordance with EN-1317). The performed analyses correspond to technical regulations TP 159 of ministry of transport of the Czech Republic as well as to valid design standards.
