TESTS TO ACCESS CONCRETE-TO-CONCRETE INTERFACE SHEAR STRENGTH
Original language description
Whenever two concrete layers are cast to each other at different times, the interface between them forms a weak link. The seemingly solid element will behave like a set of two or more separate elements and brittle crush is to be expected in the case of interface bond failure. Many different test setups for the assessment of shear behaviour of concrete-to-concrete interface could be found in literature. Basically, these could be separated into a few categories: bending tests, pull-offs, push-offs, splitting, direct shear and slant shear tests. Some of mainly used tests are briefly described below and compared with values experimentally obtained and available in literature.
