Research Summary: Potential of Adhesively Bonded Façade System
Original language description
Adhesively bonded façade systems are not an uncommon technique, although many years have passed since the first application, it has not yet become an established technological option for anchoring of façade cladding. In the Czech Republic, the percentage of implemented bonded systems is almost negligible. The presented paper is describing an experimental research that is focused on the potential of adhesively bonded façade systems. The researchers must choose between several different approaches, thus only solid wood and wood – based composite materials were selected for this purpose. The results showed the influence of material properties of the adhesive system and of the strength of the cladding or supporting material in the failure of specimens. The adhesion test was chosen as reference test, in order to evaluate the mode of failure of the bond.
