Assessment of lightweight concrete-to-concrete interface shear resistance
Original language description
Different test setups were developed and standardized for the assessment of concrete-to-concrete interface shear resistance. One of the most frequently used is slant shear test, because of its simplicity, sensitivity to the surface roughness and the fact, that the effects of friction can be obtained. Even with some modifications, monolithic failures were obtained, in cases of higher surface roughness and when lightweight concrete was used. Therefore, different test setup, referred to as confined slant shear test, was developed and will be described in this paper. Experimental verification was performed, in order to access usability of proposed method. Furthermore, numerical simulations of the experiment were performed, taking into account the effect of the confinement and different concrete grades. Obtained results will be presented, together with comparison between different slant shear test setups. Finally, main advantages and disadvantages of developed test setup will be listed, together with recommended areas of application.
