ICP Accelerometer Signal Conversion Tool for Railway Superstructure Measurement Area
Original language description
The created functional sample represents an interface module for measuring ICP accelerometers. The module is designed primarily for the needs of the Sbox datalogger (FV2023_1) and measurements on railway infrastructure. However, the module is designed in such a way that it can be used with a whole range of other devices, i.e. especially with those that do not allow this option. The module enables the measurement of single-axis and three-axis accelerometer types. At the same time, another connector is available on the side for connecting the LVDT linear displacement sensor from Inelta, type ISDT10-K2-2405. This measurement input can be interchanged with the "Z" axis input of the accelerometer in the case of using two uniaxial accelerometers. It is connected to a data logger or central measuring station via the Canon 9-pin connector. The supply voltage of unit is 5 V. Parameter switching is realized using DIP switches. The device is built into a waterproof box with IP65 protection.

Technical parameters
The created functional sample represents an interface module for measuring ICP accelerometers. These accelerometers require a power supply. The output of the module is analog signals. The module provides the possibility of setting the gain in three steps for individual measurement channels using DIP switches. It is connected to a data logger or central measuring station via the Canon 9-pin connector. The supply voltage of the module is 5 V. The supply voltage of the sensors is 24 V. Switching parameters is realized using DIP switches. The device is built into a waterproof box with IP65 protection.
Economical parameters
The developed module is designed mainly for the measurement of dynamic phenomena using ICP accelerometers on the railway superstructure using the SBox datalogger. The knowledge of the dynamic phenomena taking place on the railway superstructure will allow to detect important characteristics of the railway grating. The module can also be used, with simple adaptation, in the context of measurements by other measuring centres that do not allow measurements by ICP accelerometers. At present, the economic benefit cannot be fully evaluated. On the other hand, the functional sample provides a cheap and sufficiently accurate solution and therefore the possibility of cheaply and easily implementing the sensing of dynamic phenomena with the Sbox datalogger or other control panels at a very affordable price. And the quantities describing the dynamic loading of the railway structure can be used for many different types of measurements and analyses. The primary use of the module is for long-term measurements of a research
