MODELLING OF SHEAR STRENGTH OF CONCRETE BEAMS WITH STEEL AND GFRP REINFORCEMENT
Original language description
Extensive experimental programme has been performed recently at Lodz University of Technology, Poland, focused on shear failure testing of concrete beams. One of the goals of the research was to develop an understanding of the differences between steel and composite reinforcement impact on shear strength of concrete beams. The aim of this paper is to show aspects and capabilities of numerical modelling of two selected beams reinforced by steel and glass fiber reinforced polymer. Modelling is performed by nonlinear fracture mechanics finite element. Modelling is focused also on bond between concrete and reinforcement, the importance of correct bond modelling is extremally important for GFRP reinforcement.
