Numerical and Experimental Evaluation of Strain Inhomogenity in Extruded Copper Rods
Original language description
Forward extrusion of copper rods of various cross sections is numerically simulated to obtain strain distribution and hardening of the formed material. Computational results are compared with the distribution of hardness, measured on real test specimens.Good correlation between the numerical and experimental results is then used as a basis for precise evaluation of strain-hardness reference curves, suitable for industrial testing of formed products.
