    The use of the expert system for the breakdown voltage diagnostics of insulating material at electric rotary machine windings.

    The life of the insulating systems of electric rotary machines is strongly dependent upon electrical and thermal features of the insulating material used. The subject of the diagnostics is to specify the condition of insulation used. At present days, themost popular diagnostic tools are the methods of artificial intelligence, and one method is expert systems. Our research is made on the Relanex insulating material; the following quantities (Ba, Bv, Uk, Up) were found out of it and the identification offthe material is made on the basis of them. Ba is the activation energy of polarization effect, Bv is the activation energy of conductivity effect and Uk is the parameter determining critical voltage. The determination of those quantities is the main prerequisite for the determination of output coefficient Up (breakdown voltage) characterizing the lifetime of the insulating system and, consequently, the whole electric machine.
