Virtual Engineering in Powertrain Design
Original language description
The paper presents computational and experimental approaches to a powertrain vibration analysis. A complex computational model of a powertrain - a virtual engine - is a powerful tool for the solution of structural, thermal and fatigue problems. The virtual engine results have to give answers to different questions, mainly those concerning the area of noise, vibrations and component fatigues. The virtual engine is assembled as well as numerically solved in Multi Body System. Virtual engine results are validated by measurements on a Diesel in-line six-cylinder engine.
