    The article deals with computational modelling of a jet-wall interaction as it is a key factor to the efficient operation of the Aaberg exhaust hood. The hood makes use of the radial jet to significantly enhance its suction effect due to the generated directional flow pattern in front of the hood. The article focuses on the influence of solver set-up and discretization schemes on results obtained with the use of LES method to model the turbulent flow. It contrasts commonly used central differencing withanother second order scheme, TVD though. Regarding the solver set-up, PISO and SIMPLE algorithms are also compared. The wall was placed parallel to the jet and at the distance of 170 mm from the jet axis; the wall was limited in its diameter to 550 mm.The jet issued from a slot of 4 mm in width and diameter of 200 mm.
