Solution of Powertrain Mechanical Losses using Virtual Engine
Original language description
Development of modern powertrains is accompanied by the need to solve mechanical losses. Mechanical losses of different powertrain parts can be solved simultaneously using a virtual engine. Such a virtual engine contains modules like a cranktrain, valvetrain, gear timing drive or a balance unit. The virtual engine is assembled in Multi-Body System and includes also user written subroutines for a detailed solution of key parts, e.g. slide bearings. The results are presented on a diesel four-cylinder engine.
