The regional deposition of inhaled porous particles in the human respiratory airways
Original language description
The copper sulphate particles were dispersed using Small?scale powder disperser 3433, TSI and introduced into the segmented lung cast. The cast consists of respiratory airways from oral cavity to seventh generation of branching. The deposition experiments were performed for stationary inspiration. The cast was disassembled after the experiment and every segment was rinsed with isopropanol. The resulted solutions were analysed using atomic absorption spectroscopy in UV/VIS area. Concentrations of coppersulphate in different segments were acquired and data about regional deposition in respiratory airways were calculated.
