Lossy ECG compression using different approximation algorithms
Original language description
The ECG signal is an important source of information in medical diagnostics, which helps to discover the patient?s health. There are lot of cases, where a long ECG data record (monitoring) is required for the next processing. These specialized devices are called as holters. For example the 24 hours ECG signal is saved to flash-ROM memory, which is available for a diagnostics with a doctor. The goal of the presented paper is the maximum data reduction needed for the ECG recording. Thus the hardware ddemand for the holter and time for the data transfer are reducing, too. The second case is important in the case of telemedicine (using modems).
