Effect of Current Imbalance on the EMI Behaviour of Differential Signalling
Original language description
An investigation of common mode radiation from differentially routed high-speed signal traces on printed circuit boards is presented. The influence of current imbalance on the resulting common-mode noise level is investigated, based on an inductive coupling model. It is shown that small current imbalances always present in practical designs, can almost destroy the ideal high common-mode noise attenuation of differential signalling.
