Electrochemical Sensor for Determination of Metallothionein as Biomarker
Original language description
A simple and rapid monitoring of environment polluting is need markedly during the accidents that had wreaked environmental havoc. Here, we suggested a new sensor for monitoring of metallothionein as biomarker of heavy metal wasting. Due to high sensitivity, we used Brdicka reaction, where thiol groups of the protein of interest catalyse hydrogen evolution from the background electrolyte. We utilized the sensor to determine changes in content of metallothionein treated by different metals (Pt, Pd, Cd, Pb) for nine days long experiment.
