In this paper, a method of symbol length detection for digital modulation classification is proposed. The method was applied to signals with FSK, BPSK, MSK, QAM and QPSK modulations. The Matlab program was used for the design and analysis of the new method. The cepstrum analysis is used for the detection of signal element length. This new method was tested using modulated signals corrupted by white Gaussian noise and using signals after their transmission through multipath Rayleigh fading channel. The reliability of this method was analyzed in dependence on signal length
