Evolutionary Algorithms for Managing New Network Elements
Original language description
Evolutionary algorithms represent a group of stochastic calculation methods that are inspired by actions in live nature. These methods are suitable to apply to problems that can be solved only with difficulty by the classical deterministic mathematical methods, or where the application of exact calculation methods demands unreasonable task simplification. Non-linear regression and prediction also belong among these tasks. Although mathematical statistics gives a lot of methods for the solution of linearregression tasks, very often it is not possible to use these methods. A majority of real tasks have a non-linear status and that is why linear regression methods can be used only for short intervals of the definition domain or only under very limited conditions. That is why it can be convenient to use evolution methods for the solution of non-linear regression tasks, e.g. genetic algorithms.
