Possibilities of measurement optical splitters used in optical access networks
Original language description
This research focuses on the method of measuring access optical networks. Two methods are suitable for measuring. First of these is a direct (transmission) method. Another one is a reflectometric method. This paper deals with the reflectometric method for measuring passive optical networks. These networks are characterized by dividing the optical signal between several terminals using optical splitters. We simulated in our research the possibility of measuring optical networks with splitters. Main pointhere was to demonstrate the need for measurement by the optical network termination (ONT).
