Antenna-based sensors for partial discharge detection in high voltage power transformer
Original language description
The aim of this paper is to present some of antenna-based sensors which have been designed and built for partial discharge (PD) detection. The presence of PD is one of the crucial phenomena in high voltage transformers and the PD occurrence level has tobe watched in order to prevent the transformer failure. PD is characterized by the electromagnetic wave radiation in ultra high frequency (UHF) band. The sensors have been designed to meet the frequency requirements for PD detection and the frequency dependence of SWR is presented for three types of sensor.
