    The aim of this paper is to present the particulars of the test measurement in the 400kV / 15,75 kV, 300 MVA transformer under operation. The presence of partial discharges (PD) is one of the crucial phenomena in high voltage transformers and the PD occurrence level has to be watched in order to prevent the transformer failure. PD is in general characterized by electromagnetic wave radiation, also in ultrahigh frequency (UHF) band. The applied UHF measurement system enables not only to detect PD but also to locate a source of PD.
