Original language description
This paper deals with the description of two MPEG-7 descriptors and their implementation and testing. Particularly, the Dominant Color descriptor and Contour-shape descriptor are described in this paper. The Dominant Color descriptor is used to describea representative color of an image or image region whereas the Contour-shape descriptor is meant for description of the shape of image region. The algorithms are tested on a number of example images and the results are presented in the paper. The createdalgorithms are part of a large project that deals with object detection, object recognition and object description in images.
