Description of Objects in Images Using MPEG-7 Descriptors

Original language description

This paper focuses on implementation of MPEG-7 image descriptors, particularly color and contour-shape descriptors. As the color descriptor, the Dominant color is used, the Curvature Scale Space is used as contour-shape descriptor. Both of these descriptors are used to describe region of image, its color and shape. The dominant color can also be used to the description of whole image. The results of computation are written into an XML file according to the same standard, MPEG-7. At the end of this paper, results of implementation and parts of the output XML file are shown. The created algorithms are part of a large project that deals with object detection, object recognition and object description in images.
