Design of the 12bits Delta-Sigma Modulator using SC Technique
Original language description
The work deals with design of the 12-bit Delta-Sigma modulator in the switched capacitors (SC) technique. The first part describes a new accurate model in MATLAB. The model includes non-idealities occurring on transistor level in Delta-Sigma modulator. These errors are mainly caused by operational amplifiers (finite bandwidth, voltage unbalance, finite gain, slew rate), comparator (hysteresis error decision-making levels), DAC and used switches. The modulator at the transistor level was designed based on MATLAB simulation model. The technology of CMOS technology OnSemiconductor I2T100 0.7 um was used for design. SC and correlated double sampling (CDS) techniques were used for circuitry as well. The final modulator design reached a value of SNR = 82.2 dB (ENOB =13.4).
