Effect of Optimized RSSI Distance Estimation on Accuracy of RTLS System
Original language description
This paper shows how the distance estimation based on RSSI parameter can be optimized when our adaptive system reflecting the actual radio condition i s applied. The adaptive proposed method is evaluated in the real testbed consisted on wireless sensors.Furthermore, we have showed the impact of the adaptive distance estimation method on the accuracy of the localization system. For evaluation we have implemented Multilateration and Weighted Centroid algorithm. The results showed that adaptive method improves the distance estimation about 9% in contrast to commonly used method using pure signal strength. With the proposed adaptive method we have observed localization error of 1.3 in office and 6.3 meters in the floor respectively.
