Recently, power system has been improved particularly in substation automation system (SAS) due to vast change and improvement in existing new communication technologies such as switched Ethernet, low-cost high-performance computers, and high-speed widearea networks. As a result of these modern applications the International Electrotecnical Commission (IEC) has developed and become a new global standard for substation automation and the Process bus networks are the next stage in the evolution of substation design. IEC 61850 describes how devices communicate in a substation. IEC 61850 can do many functions in the digital world such as standardization of data names, creation of a comprehensive set of services, implementation over standard protocols andhardware.
