Raising Students Motivation in General English Courses at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication
Original language description
The paper deals with the problems of teaching general English courses to students of various faculties. The author first covers the general situation in more advanced courses and students attitude to English learning, posing questions in order to start up a discussion over the ways motivating students not only to pass the final exam, but to make them interested in learning English as something meaningful they can use in their everyday lives. The author defines what task-based learning is and suggests its modified usage in the courses as a means of motivation.
