Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Stator Winding Fault Modelling
Original language description
This paper deals with the open-phase fault and the winding inter-turn short circuit fault modelling of 3-phase interior (salient pole) permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). We found out that these are the most frequent non-mechanical failures in IPMSM drives. This paper is focused on mathematical model and Matlab/Simulink model of such drive. The stationary reference frame is used for representation of a model, according to the stator winding asymmetry (caused by fault in one phase winding). Modelwith faults is built on SimScape Matlab/Simulink toolbox. The results indicate that this is powerful way how to simulate complex electromechanical system in non-standard operational regime. It suggests that this model can be used for verifying the faultdetection algorithms based on the stator current signature analysis or the state observers.
