Battery Storage and Charging Systems Power Control Supporting Voltage in Charging Mode
Original language description
The paper deals with proposal and utilization of power control of battery storage and electrical vehicle charging systems for autonomous voltage support within charging mode. Similar capability is already introduced and required for photovoltaic invertors and another distributed sources. Starting from requirements on distributed energy resources voltage support defined by means of active power curtailment and reactive power intentional injection, corresponding P(V, f) and Q(V) static characteristics as for charging mode are proposed and their implementation on a reference battery energy storage system is presented. Finally, in terms of performed field tests referred in the paper, positive impact on grid operation (voltage magnitude) with reasonable limitation of charging power is documented and confirmed.
