Elliptic equations with (p,q)-growth and competition phenomena

  • Original language description

We consider a Dirichlet problem driven by a differential operator with (p,q)-growth (double phase equation) and a reaction which exhibits the competing effects of “sublinear” and “superlinear” nonlinearities (concave-convex problem). Using the critical point theory, together with truncation and comparison techniques and critical groups, we prove an existence and multiplicity theorem, which is global in the parameter λ>0 (a bifurcation-type theorem).
