Original language description

This paper deals with digital image conversion from source input format (SIF) into CCIR 601 (4:2:2). For this conversion the black and white image must be magnified twice. The standard method of magnifying, which is described described in the norm 13818-2 for MPEG-2 produces a relatively blurred enlarged image. We therefore tried to create an algorithm, which would keep the sharpness of the interpolated image.
