In this paper some problems are described of the first-order Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH -E1) and Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) modelling. The modelling of a digital telecommunication system includes the information source and its adaptation to the transmission path or to the bandwidth of this path, the analogue to digital conversion, the transmission of digital signal inclusive of digital filter processing, the digital to analogue conversion in the receiver and the transmission to the information appliance.
